What is the size according to the 1/2 inch gauges?
millimeters ( mm ) | inches () |
---|---|
11mm | 7/ 16 |
12mm | 1/2 |
13mm | 17/ 32 |
14mm | 9/16 |
What is the next size after 00 gauge?
00 g is approximately 3/8 inch. We run out of measurements after 00g, so we use fractions of an inch instead. The next size after 00g is 7/16.
What are the metrics?
This is how gauges with diameters in inches and millimeters can be compared:
- 18 gauge = 0.04 inch or 1.0 millimeter.
- 14 gauge = 1/16 inch or 1.6 millimeters.
- 8 gauge = 1/8 inch or 3.2 millimeters.
- 2 gauge = 1/4 inch or 6.5 millimeters.
- Track gauge 0 = 5/16 inch or 8.3 millimeters.
- Caliber 00 = 3/8 inch or 9.3 millimeters.
What are the smallest gauges you can get?
What is the smallest gauge? A standard ear piercing weighs 20g or 18g, so the smallest measurement is 20g. Measurement sizes are always even numbers and the smaller the number, the larger the earring, so starting at 18g the next size would be 16g.
Which size gauges are returning to normal?
Most people can go from 2g (6mm) to 00g (10mm) and expect their ears to have a normal piercing again after a few months of healing. If you don’t want to stretch your ears forever, be sure to stretch slowly and never skip sizes.
What’s bigger than a 20 or 18 gauge?
Gauges get larger with decreasing numbers (i.e. a size of 00G is massive compared to a gauge of 20). with an 18 gauge. If you want it smaller, ask for a 20 gauge or even 22 if you are going to be pierced.
What size is between 0 and 00?
To avoid damage to the earlobe, it is necessary to use “half sizes” to maintain elongations in millimeter increments. The half size between 2g and 0g is 7mm, also called 1g. Half size between 0g and 00g is 9mm, sometimes called 00g.
