Can you leave the AIT army?
You cannot leave the US military per se. When you join the army you are under contract and have obligations (just like the army). The military may decide that you are unfit to continue training or service due to medical or disciplinary issues, but there are ups and downs with both.

In the military, every time you fail your fitness test, you’ll be temporarily disconnected to try and train you to pass it. They will work with you for months, but if even after months of training you still don’t get it. They will just drop you.

Can you be excluded from the AIT?
Getting kicked out of AIT doesn’t happen. That’s not to say it doesn’t happen, it’s just extremely rare. People don’t usually get kicked out unless they are so badly broke, there is a major disciplinary issue, lack of housing etc etc. Most recycle or are sent to another AIT to qualify for another MOS.
What happens if you drop out of basic army training?
When you arrive at the training camp, your fate is not yet sealed. Even if you are now on active duty, the army command can dismiss you with impunity for the first 180 days of service. The official term for this is entry-level split. Boot camp is the best time because the army has just started training.
