Jones worked in many places before joining the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission (AIDC) in March 1991. As a public servant in Arkansas, she was asked to run for Governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton’s room at the Excelsior Hotel . Jones later claimed that while she was in a hotel room with Clinton, she proposed to him and exposed herself.

Jones kept silent and hid the relationship until 1994. However, on May 6, 1994, he filed a sexual harassment complaint against Bill Clinton. The case dragged on for four years and before she came to court on April 2. In 1998, Judge Wright upheld Bill Clinton’s motion to dismiss the case because Jones was unable to prove that he was seriously injured in the accident. He then appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Clinton then agreed to an out-of-court settlement and paid Jones and his attorneys $850,000 to dismiss the lawsuit. After Clinton paid the amount, his lawyers warned that the agreement had to be permanently terminated so that he could move on with his life. Even after the deal, Jones continues to claim that Clinton harassed her and, to the contrary, Clinton continues to deny her accusations.

Jones endorsed Donald Trump and endorsed him in the 2016 US presidential election in February 2016. He later joined Trump at an October 2016 news conference for the 2016 second presidential debate, which was to start against Hillary and Bill Clinton.

Jones’s real-life story of sexual harassment cases was featured on the FX series Impeachment: American Crime Story. The role of her was played by actress Annalee Ashford. To perfect the role of Paula, Ashford wore a prosthetic nose, braces, and a set of wigs, spending 3 hours each morning in the makeup chair.

Ashford also studied Jones’s controversial interview with Deborah Norville, in which the host asked Jones, “With all due respect, why does Bill Clinton care about you?” In response, Jones said: “It was very difficult, that’s exactly what I go through every day. Why should you care? because i’m useless
