Career

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan began his career as a musician and qawwal. In 1971, after the death of his father and his uncle, he became the leader of his Qawwal group called Qawwal Bachon Ka Gharana. He made his debut as a conductor when Radio Pakistan invited him to the annual JashneBaharan music festival.

She then made her film industry debut in 1981 with Nahudah, performing a hit titled Haq Ali Ali. In 1998, she wrote the soundtrack for the Canadian-American film The Last Temptation of Christ with an English composer, singer and producer named Peter Gabriel.

Death

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan died on August 16, 1997. He died of sudden cardiac arrest at Cromwell Hospital in London. Doctors in London reportedly said that one of the main causes of his death was that a Pakistani doctor used contaminated dialysis to treat him. His remains were buried at Kabootran Wala Qabristan in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
