Early life
Joey Lawrence was born on April 20, 1976 in Abington, Pennsylvania, United States. He was born to his parents Joseph Lawrence Mignogna and Donna. His father worked as an insurance broker and his mother was a primary school teacher and chief of staff. Joey grew up in Philadelphia with two younger brothers.
Regarding his education, he attended the Abington Friends School. He graduated from high school in 1994 and then moved on to the University of Southern California.

Lawrence landed his first acting role in a Cracker Jack commercial. He later appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
