Early life

Jerry Mathers was born on June 2, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. His father was a high school principal. He spent his childhood in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California. He grew up with 3 siblings, two brothers and one sister.

Jerry began his career at the age of two as a child model for a department store advertisement. After the first commercial, he starred in a PET milk commercial with comedian Ed Wynn. Jerry then went on to star in several movies like This Is My Love, Fighting Lady Men, Seven Little Boys, and Harry in Trouble.

Mathers became a television leader after landing the role of Beaver Cleaver on the television sitcom Leave It to Beaver. He was chosen by the TV show’s producers due to his outspoken nature, when he said that he would be better off at a Scout meeting than auditioning for a role.

Jerry was very impressive in his role as Beaver on the sitcom. He appeared on television shows for six years, in which he appeared in 234 episodes. During the show, Jerry promised to receive a percentage of the show’s merchandise revenue. With this deal, he became the first child actor to receive a percentage of merchandise profits.

As he grew older and became a teenager, he retired from acting and concentrated more on his studies. Matters attended Dotre Dame High School. During his school years, he was a member of the musical group Beaver and the Trappers.

In 1966, he joined the US Air Force Reserve. After graduating from high school, he continued to serve in the reserve. And after a while he received the rank of sergeant. Matters is said to have died during the Vietnam War. However, the rumor turned out to be false after Jerry claimed that he was never outside of the United States.

Jerry also worked as a business loan officer after graduating from UC Berkeley. Thanks to his banking job at the time, he was earning $500 a week. He later used all of his savings to start a career in real estate. After all the ups and downs, he returned to his acting career in 1978, where he starred in the sitcom Boeing.

Jerry reprized the role of Beaver Cleaver in the 1983 television movie Still the Beaver. The film fell in love with the audience, which led to the creation of a series of sequels of the same name. In 1984, the series aired on the Disney Channel. The series was later renamed New Leave It to Beaver after being picked up by TBS. The popular television series lasted until 1989.

Also in 2018 and 2019, Matzers promoted his popular television series on the MeTV network. He was last seen as an actor in the 2008 film The Will to Power and in the television movie Mother Goose Parade.

Jerry Matters has been married three times. He first married Diana Platt in 1974. He met her in college. After separating from Diana, he married Rhonda Goering. With his second wife, Rhonda, he had three children, two girls and a boy. The couple separated after their divorce in 1997.

Jerry then married his third wife, Teresa Modnick, on January 30, 2011. From now on, he spends luxurious time with his third wife. Matters starred in a type 2 diabetes treatment show in a television commercial after his recovery from type 2 diabetes.

After she was diagnosed with diabetes, she joined a weight loss program with Jenny Craig, a weight loss company. She lost over 40 pounds during a weight loss program and later appeared as the first male voice of Jenny Craig.
