There is a flags section on your SRB/ORB in the lower left corner. An APFT flag has the code YES. If it doesn’t clear, see YES in this section. When deleted, the section is empty.
What happens if you are reported to the military?
In the US military, a flag means that a soldier’s record is marked with a form stating that the soldier may not attend promotion schools, be promoted, or be re-enrolled until the conditions that caused the flag are resolved.
Can we be reported without notification?
Soldiers who are not on active duty will receive flag adoption guidance prior to the end of the first training period following the flag adoption date. The advice must include the reason for the flag, the requirement to remove the flag, and the action prohibited by the flag.
How long can a soldier be enlisted?
Active flags are then reviewed and validated at least monthly by a Soldiers unit commander and by the commander at the battalion level if the flag has been in position for more than six months. Flags are removed within three business days after a soldier’s status changes from unfavorable to favorable.
Can you retire from the military if you’re flagged?
Relief for obesity and APFT failure. In exceptional circumstances, a Soldier flagged for being overweight or failing the APFT may be commended and awarded an award based on bravery, heroism, or length of retirement.
Can I take time off while I’m being reported?
As far as I know, a flag only stops early or overdue vacations. Normal time off is a benefit (i.e. earned as part of your salary) and not a privilege. Therefore, it can only be stopped in rare cases. For example, command may deny leave if it can demonstrate that you are at AWOL flight risk.
Can you report when you’re flagged?
Unfortunately, not. See AR 60082, paragraph 31i. A properly displayed flag prohibits the following personal acts, except as otherwise specified in these rules: …payment of a hiring bonus or selective reinstatement bonus (AR 601-280).
Do you lose promotion status if reported?
Answer: Yes. When a soldier is tagged, the PPW system removes the soldier from the permanent promotion list and puts the soldier in an NOT eligible status.
Can you provide if tagged?
No, the flag cannot prevent your forward deployment.
