Early life

Headhunter Dog Dwayne Lee Chapman was born on February 2, 1953 in Denver, Colorado, United States of America. He was born to his parents Wesley Duane and Barbara Darlene Chapman. Wesley’s father was a welder and guarantor. Also, his mother Barbara worked as a Sunday school teacher. Hunter grew up with three siblings named Jolyne, Michael, and Paula.

Chapman ran away from home at the age of 15 after joining the Devil’s Disciples. He was convicted of first degree murder in 1976 and later sentenced to 5 years in Texas. In fact, Hunter was waiting for his friend in the driveway when he shot and killed 69-year-old Jerry Oliver while he was buying cannabis.

He then served in the Texas State Penitentiary for 18 months. While in prison, he was inspired to become a bounty hunter after approaching a prisoner who was about to be shot for trying to escape from prison.
