Daniel Berger was born on April 7, 1993, in Plantation, Florida, the son of Nadia and Jay Berger. His father is a former tennis coach and director of men’s tennis for the United States Tennis Association.
Berger started playing golf at the age of 11. He attended William T. Dwyer High School and then played college golf at Florida State University. While in college, he won the SunTrust Gator Invitational and the Seminole Intercollegiate.
As an amateur, Berger was twice named a first-team player for the United States by the American Golf Coaches Association. He was also nominated for AllNicklaus, Team AllACC and Team PING AllRegion.
