Early Life
Godwin was born on February 27, 1996 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Middletown High School and played high school football for the Cavaliers. Godwin played football well in school. He gained more than 700 yards each year during his high school career and in his senior year he had 1,150 yards and 16 winning streaks. As an adult, he was named Delaware Gatorade Player of the Year and selected to play in the 2013 All-American Game.
