You can use thru-bolts (which can be quick releases) in the QR dropouts. These require special hubs that allow for a 9mm thru-bolt at the front and a 10mm thru-bolt at the rear. Can I change from quick release to thru axle?
Some manufacturers offer frames with removable rear dropouts that can be swapped out for thru axles, quick release dropouts, and other styles. With some forks it’s possible and cheaper (but never cheap) to just swap out the legs.

You can only mount the type (size) of rear axle that your frame accepts. If currently fitted with a QR, the frame is most likely 10mm.
Can you convert QR to thru axle?
Brandon, as far as I know, if you have rim brakes, all associated hubs, forks and frames are designed for QRs. So converting to thru axles would be impractical and/or impossible, and the QRs are more than stiff enough for rim brake setups.
Can you convert QR to Bolt?
stiffer, yes. But Standard QR is perfectly functional even for a rider over 200lbs. I am not aware of any conversion kit for Shimano. If they play well maybe a Saint axle in the back would work.
