Camilla Olivia Cosby was born on March 20, 1944 in Washington, DC, United States. She was born to parents Guy A. Hanks Sr. and Katherine S. Hanks. Her father, Guy A., worked at Walter Reed General Hospital. Also, her mother worked in a nursery. Camille grew up in Norbeck, Maryland with three brothers.
Regarding his education, he attended private Catholic schools. After high school, he entered the University of Maryland, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In June 1987, she received an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Johnetta Cole of Howard University.
Cosby continued his education, enrolling at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In 1990 she received her master’s degree from the university. Two years later, in 1992, she received her Ph.D. from the same university. Cosby earned her master’s and doctorate degrees from her when she was in her mid-thirties.
