Early Life

Wagner was born on June 27, 1990 in Los Angeles, California. He attended Colony High School, where he started playing high school football. In 2007, as an adult, he made 125 tackles, including four sacks. During his school years, he earned all CIF Central Division honors and all Mount Baldy League honors. He helped his team win the CIF division title and was named to the AllSan Bernardino team.

Rivals.com considered Wagner a two-star recruit. He just received an offer from the state of Utah, which he accepted.

Wagner played college football at the University of Utah from 2008 to 2011. As a freshman, he played in 11 games and recorded 51 tackles. In his second year, he played 12 games in which he recorded 133 tackles and 0.5 sacks. In his senior year at the University of Utah, he played in 13 games and recorded 147 tackles and 4 sacks. In all, during his four years at the University of Utah, he recorded 445 tackles, 4.5 sacks and four interceptions.

In 2012, Wagner was selected in the second round of the NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He signed a four-year, $4.30 million contract with a $2.51 million guarantee and a $1.57 million signing bonus. He made his professional debut against the Arizona Cardinals, where he recorded four combined tackles in a 2016 loss. He finished his rookie season with 140 combined tackles, 4 pass breakups, 3 interceptions and 2 sacks.

2013 was the biggest year of his career as he started with the NFC championship and scored a combined 15 tackles in a win over the San Francisco 49ers. He also started his first Super Bowl career, where he had 10 combined tackles to win Super Bowl XLVIII.
