Ashleigh Barty was born on April 24, 1996 in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. She was born to parents Robert and Josie Barty. Her father, Robert, worked at the State Library of Queensland and her mother, Josie, is a radiologist. She grew up with two older sisters, Sarah and Ali. For her education, she enrolled at Woodcrest State College.
At the age of 4, he began training at the West Brisbane Tennis Center under the guidance of junior coach Jim Joyce.
